Ascend Aide Team!
Aide services provide support for the child and their families as they work on their therapy goals! They implement specific strategies that are provided by the therapists on your child's team! Our aides bring activities with them to work on goals through play-based activities and always keep it fun! Our aides work within your home or within the community for outings to work on social skills!
Emily
Hi! My name is Emily! I am a third year kinesiology student, with a focus on mind sciences. After my undergrad, I hope to pursue a career in therapy or counseling. I love being around children and I love working with the ascend team! Some of my favorite activities include playing volleyball, going for walks/hikes with my dog, swimming & playing card games with my family!
Rylan
Hi, my name is Rylan! I'm currently in my fourth year at the University of Calgary, and I'm completing a combined degree of Psychology and Sociology, with a concentration of Criminology. I have always had a passion for helping others and studying brain development. During my free time I enjoy figure skating, going for bike rides, hiking, playing with my dog, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I'm excited to create connections and promote positive learning within Ascend Pediatrics!
Hailey
My name is Hailey. I am an Alberta girl born and raised; I grew up on a farm and acreage where I spent my days riding horses, playing with dogs and cats and spending time with my family. I have always had a passion towards caring for and connecting with others and I hope to embody this passion in my future career. I am currently a 4th year Physical Literacy student, soon approaching graduation. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, and being outdoors whether hiking, biking or walking with my dog. I look forward to expanding my knowledge as I continue to learn and grow here at Ascend Pediatrics!

Hi, My name is Janessa! I am from Forestburg, AB and have moved to Calgary to attend the University of Calgary, majoring in Community Rehabilitation. I have a Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma from MacEwan University. I have loved working with children and seeing how play positively impacts their development. I enjoy cooking, swimming, and skiing during my free time. A life goal of mine is to travel to each continent and explore as many countries as possible.

I love supporting individuals and helping them reach their health and wellness goals. Some of my hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, cooking, biking, and playing ringette.
Layna
Hey, I'm Layna! I was born in Ukraine and moved to Canada at the age of six years old. Along with working as an Aide, I am currently in my third year of Health and Physical Education in the Physical Literacy program at Mount Royal University, in the hopes of pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy. In the summer I love camping, golfing, hiking and being outside as much as possible. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying active and watching movies!

Hello! My name is Taylor! I’m originally from Vancouver Island and I’m currently living in Cochrane. I have worked with children for the past 5 years and enjoyed every second of it! I like to spend my time watching or playing sports, reading, and studying anything science related. I love working with Ascend and look forward to all the interactions I get to have with families and kids!
Delaney
Hey! I am Delaney! I just graduated from McMaster University with an honours science degree in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior and specialized in mental health. I played varsity soccer during my time there, and I used to coach a lot of soccer in the summers. Some of my hobbies include camping, paddleboarding and trying out new restaurants whenever I can. A fun fact about me is that I have two french bulldogs!
